Germán González Garrido was born in Argentina and studied Architecture at University of Buenos Aires.
After graduating in 2001, he co-founded Proyecto Digital in Madrid and worked on a wide range of successful projects in the areas of architectural visualization and interior design.
He began designing lighting objects in 2014 and created the Light Swing, the Concrete Ball, and the Black Hole Lamp among other lighting experiments.
In 2015 he moved to Vienna and joined Studio Kanso to collaborate in hardware design projects for mySugr, a successful health start-up based in Austria.
In 2017 he founded his own studio and developed projects in diverse fields such as lighting, interior design projects, and ephemeral installations for clients in Europe and Asia. He also co-founded Singular Design with the aim of designing and crafting high-end interactive lights.
In 2020 Singular Design evolved into Singular Lighting to focus on creating exceptionally designed sustainable lights for these changing times.
Germán has a passion for design and a keen sense for space, light, and colour. He takes his creative drive from a fusion of crafting and high-end technology with an experimental approach, from strategic ideation to implementation, creating honest, long-lasting, and meaningful designs.
