Design of the logistics offices and storage for FarmaClock warehouse and its online store: FarmaSky. The premise was a 500 square meters space located in San Sebastián de los Reyes, Madrid.
The functional requirements were the following:
GROUND FLOOR
- Main entrance, reception, orders packing and delivery area
- Secondary entrance for merchandise receiving
- Online store office
- Warehouse
- Changing room and toilet
MAIN FLOOR
- Reception and waiting area
- Meeting room
- Accounts office
- 3 more offices
- Kitchenette
- Toilets
The guiding ideas for the project were based in some important factors about what the space should evoke in terms of strength, presence and prominence of the corporate brand. This must be clearly expressed in the main entrance, the reception and access to the upper floor. In terms of functionality and distribution it was important to find the most efficient use of the storage space, ensure a clear communication between the main and secondary entrance and pay special attention to the layout and materiality on the upper floor plan, considering that natural light only enters through the western façade.
At the main entrance there is a prismatic corporate blue element that relates the warehouse with the orders preparation area. It also provides space for the reception desk and the online store office. The corporate brand has a strong presence in this space and is visible on the prism and soil.
Behind this volume there is the main storage area with 270 square meters on two levels. At the other end of the warehouse it is the merchandise receiving area connected to the secondary access.
The staircase to the upper floor serves a dual purpose: functional and visual.
The first floor is linearly organized to divide working from services areas. A blue blind prism has been designed for this purpose and includes the kitchenette, server cabinets, wardrobe and toilets.
The working areas are the accounts office, meeting room and other three more offices. They are set on a comb layout divided by silk screen printed glass partitions which give the necessary permeability in order to take advantage of the natural light and let it enter through the whole floor depth. All the rooms and offices can be closed with motorized blinds whenever the use requires visual privacy.
The interior design has reached the distribution and functionality requirements, optimizing the logistics needs while clearly expressing the main values of the brand: professionalism, efficiency and the highest quality service.
