DESIGN OF PHYSIOTHERAPY CENTER
The premises had 105 square meters and was located on the corner of Mayor St. and Mercedes Izquierdo St. in the old town neighborhood and commercial area of San Sebastian de los Reyes in Madrid.
SECTORS
- Access, reception and waiting areas.
- 6 physiotherapy rooms.
- Accesible toilet.
- Storage zone.
The main concept that ruled the guiding ideas of the project was to focus on the patient experience.
FOCUSING ON THE EXPERIENCE
It was particularly important that the patients could feel full confidence of being in a highly professional environment and with the latest technology at their disposal. I looked forward to providing a relaxing and comfortable environment where their privacy was respected and they were able to express their preferences while receiving treatment. I wanted to remove the sense of depersonalization and coldness that is usually associated with these types of spaces. This led me to make decisions concerning spatial distribution, form and lighing.
A white organic piece generates a large surface for the corporate image application and divides the public and private uses as it resolves the issue of privacy of the circulation and access to the physiotherapy rooms whilst hiding the storage areas.
INTERIORS
The interior facade of the treatment rooms is defined by a continuous meandering line with no sharp edges which gives visual fluidity and a special incidence of light on its surface. Access doors are glazed. The color and intensity of the light that will shade the walls during the session can be customized to suit the patient preferences.
EXTERIORS
The exterior facades have translucent vinyl applied on the glass with a double function: they give privacy to the session rooms, while offering advertising surface.
IDENTITY
The final result: a strong and recognizable identity that defines a characteristic aesthetic to the brand and transmits confidence, great attention to detail, order, simplicity and purity of form and function.
